Nina Zanetti Workshop
Special Workshop with Nina Zanetti
Nina Zanetti will be traveling through our area at the end of June and we are very excited to announce
that she will be able to do a workshop and a concert for our club. Nina is the winner of the 2008
National Mountain Dulcimer Competition (Walnut Valley Festival, Winfield, KS), and is known for her
beautiful and expressive style of play.
This is a perfect opportunity for intermediate and advanced players to take their playing to another
level! Nina will be demonstrating in and will be encouraging participants to try fingerpicking, but don't
fret! No one will be searching your bags and confiscating picks! Nina's tab can also be flatpicked, if
that is the player's preference, but wow! What a great chance to work on fingerpicking skills with
someone who specializes in it!
The workshop will be, "Some Sweet Celtic Aires". Besides adding to your repertoire, you'll get to
work on fingerpicking, and possibly some other techniques, time permitting. (News Flash! Nina is
working on a new tablature book on Celtic music! It MAY be ready in June--keep your fingers
crossed--when you're not fingerpicking anyway!)
For the concert, Nina is working on some new arrangements and also is
planning on including some of the music that she used in competition at
Winfield!

Save the Date! Tuesday, June 30, 6:30-9:00 p.m.
6:30-8:00: Workshop - "Some Sweet Celtic Airs".
Level - Intermediate & Up
We'll be playing chord-melody style and fingerpicking. Time permitting, Nina may incorporate some
other techniques as well.
Location: Second United Methodist Church in the room where we've had the novice-intermediate
class.
8:00-8:15: Break, Get room ready for concert
8:15-9:00: Concert - same location.
Costs: Workshop - $15 per person, Concert - Donation
No pre-registration is necessary, but if you would like to send an email to Deby Libby to let us know
that you plan on coming, please send it to debylibby@charter.net It will be very helpful to have a
count on who will be coming so we can have the appropriate number of copies made. Thank you!
